Thank you

Our Fete was a great success and Canon John Green wrote the following in our Parish Newsletter:

‘To all who organised, to all who collected, to all who sold (and bought), to all who baked, to all who poured, to all who helped in ‘wanging wellies’ or throwing boiled eggs, to all who took money or wrested with the signal for the card readers or counted the moneys after the event, to all who parked cars, to all who marshalled dogs or judged them or entered them and stuck up for them, to all who did anything before the day or on the day and especially after the day, to all who came and took part – A GREAT BIG THANK YOU.
We have the awesome responsibility of looking after five precious churches. Your generous help in making this Village Fete at Bignor Park a resounding success has made our task that bit easier. We cannot thank you enough. One person deserves a special vote of thanks and she worked herself to a stand-still. She knows who she is. Thank you.’

Entertainment at the Fete in 2024

Singer Duncan Allen is a Swing, Rat Pack and Musical Theatre Vocalist who delivers performances with flawless vocals, sophistication and style. Most recently Duncan Allen was seen singing on ITV’s The Voice UK and was mentored by Olly Murs. Duncan was also honoured to perform in a touring production of ‘The Rat Pack’. Duncan’s extensive repertoire includes classics from The Great American Songbook as sung by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and many Musical Theatre showtunes.

Mike Elvin is a very experienced entertainer who has honed his craft to become a wonderful performer. Not only does he bring you a first class Punch and Judy Show he is also skilled in allied arts such as balloon modelling and magic. Punch and Judy is a traditional show that goes back over 300 years and has evolved over the years. Originally it began with actors playing the characters to adults before it became puppets. But now we know it as a children/family entertainment. It brings fun and humour with its unique entertainment that will have children laughing and calling out in a very interactive way.
